Tea Cozies

Dome Type Tea Cozies ... Snug-Up Tea Cozies

Each of my cozies has a story. The women who made these pieces are lost to us, yet they live on in their handwork.

This page has Dome Type Cozies. I believe these cozies are more suited to teapots with lovely designs. The cozy is beautiful and then when you life it to pour - ta-da! - The teapot is even more beautiful!!
As I make more cozies I will post them.

Here is a link to some fabrics that are suitable for a lining or background for your cozy. Fabric Choices

Soft Green Cozy With Crochet Hankie - $22.00 Isn't this the sweetest hankie cozy! And I just love the way the hankie edge looks on this fabric. My friend Sharen found this hankie at an estate sale in Pennsylvania. The lining is a hunter green.

Ruffle Edge Patchwork Cozy With Teacup Pocket - $22.50 I show this cozy on GrandmaRae.com so that those who stop by would realize I could make them a patchwork design with new fabric as well. HOWEVER, I like the look of this old quilt top better.

Hand Applique on Linen - $22.00 This tea cozy is made from a bureau scarf that I found in an Antique Shope on Sunset Blvd in Cape May. Unfortunately the shop is closed. I found so many lovely things there! Do you see those black lines on the sides and on the loop? Black embroidery thread is woven between the threads of the linen to give that effect. Both sides of the cozy have this lovely applique design.

The tea pot is a very special gift from Patti at FeedontheWord.com Scripture on tableware. This teapot says Be aglow an burning with the Spirit, serving the Lord. (Romans 12:11b)

SOLD
Lavender Tea Cozy - $22.00 I found this lovely embroidered piece in a Cape May, NJ Antique Shop. The French Knot flowers are perfect. And I love the black line edging. This is a very, very sweet piece. The lining is the same color as the little teapot on its back. (See pix below for look of teapot w/tea) There were no other linens in this pattern. This is "one of one," unique.

Both SOLD
Blue Birds Cozy - $20.00This cozy is made from "one of two" embroidered pieces part of a bedroom set. The bureau scarf was totally ruined with rips and stains. This piece is in good condition. The linen is thin from washing and perhaps bleaching out stains but the stitches are in very good condition. The lining is the same color as the little teapot on its back. This was another Cape May find.

Strawberries Cozy - $18.00 My friend Sharen picked this out for me at an Estate sale. This cozy is "one of two" since it's made from either a table runner or sideboard scarf. It's mate is in Michigan. The back of the cozy is red to match the strawberries and the lining is gold to match the leaves and vine. The handwork is in very good condition. There is no teapot on its back. The lace edge is machine made, not antique.

This cozy is part of a set on the apron page. I put it here so that you could see a different type of cozy. This one is small but (depending on available fabric) I can make larger ones.
