Vests

So here's where I started - with a table cloth I found at the St. Clare's Thrift Shop in Denville, NJ. It's so kitchy 50's - all turquoise and white. The floral string pattern in the center is wonderful. And to top it off - it's in mint condition!! Oh hurrah!

I cut the pieces for a vest along with a matching tea cozy and Friendship Tea Bag. And then I had the most fun sewing sequins and some pearls along the string. The glittery sparkle doesn't show that well in the photo.
I have a wonderful turquoise paisley that goes wonderfully. I'm going to use that as lining and for the back. I'm thinking about using some of the turquoise fabric for inside pockets shaped liked teacups or maybe tea pots. I can't decide yet. This is fun! fun! fun!

Isn't this the cutest! I put sparkles all over. I had the best time! The vest back is the same fabric as the lining. There are adjusting ties in the back as well. This is a small vest. Suitable for a young girl.
